ā€œI was having someā€¦ funā€ I retorted, the word tasting bitter in my mouth, a hollow mockery of the eveningā€™s earlier, fleeting moments of enjoyment. ā€œNina said you agreed. That it was okay.ā€

Then, he continued, his voice regaining its venomous edge, ā€œYou are not, in any way, shape, or form, fucking Nina.ā€

When I opened my mouth, fully intending to launch into a furious defense of my actions, to unleash the torrent of anger and humiliation that was boiling within me, he preempted me again, cutting me off before I could utter a single syllable.

ā€œYou donā€™tā€”ā€ I shot back, my voice trembling with rage.

ā€œOh, but I do, darlingā€ he interrupted, his voice suddenly dropping, plummeting to a dangerously low tone, a chillingly smooth whisper that was far more terrifying than his earlier shouting. Fury, raw and untamed, flashed and flickered like lightning behind the storm clouds of his eyes. ā€œI own you.ā€

The words hung heavy in the air between us, possessive, brutal, devoid of any warmth or affection.

A true page turner

I really loved where this story went, all the twists, surprises, drama, danger, vibrant characters, incredible storyline, will keep you turning pages through to the end. The intriguing scenes, violence, will captivate you and not let you go.

Alice Reyes is one of my favorite authors. I love the characters and plot development and this title is no exception. Lily is the kind of characters you want to be friends with. You want to rescue her, only to realize she doesnā€™t need rescuing. Great read!.

This is my fav series by this author so far and Iā€™ve really enjoyed a lot them. This story stars Lily and Killian. The story will keep you engaged - itā€™s quite interesting and has twists and turns.

This one messed me up in the best way. Beautiful, brutal, and bleeding with emotion. Lilyā€™s transformation from broken to brave had me soft and aching, and Killian? That obsessive psychopath melted into the kind of monster Iā€™d sell my soul for. The way he worshipped her trauma, her fire, her scar............. it was everything. Alice Reyes gave me a dark, romantic high I donā€™t wanna come down from.
